There’s no better way to step into the weekend than to visit a boutique market. Especially when the fresh produce supports local and other regional farmers and artisans.

The Murray’s Market tantalises with it’s selection of cheese, honey and other condiments. Our fave is the small batch sauces. Delish! You’ll also find crusty sourdough bread made from scratch, farm fresh cured meats, and seasonal fruits and veggies. The beautiful coffee table books are hard to resist, as are the handmade treats. Finally, the fresh flowers, wellness products and great selection of craft beers, wines and liquors. Everything you need for some self care at home (#treatyourself)

Hubby and I arrived early on a Saturday morning. We knew if we wanted ‘first dibs’ we’d have to get there before the lunch time rush! We were greeted immediately by pots of calming lavender, followed by a wild assortment of fresh cut flowers – divine! Following the path into the cellar doors, there was an immediate raw and earthy, country vibe that enveloped you. The restored woods, the warm lighting and smell of lemon rinds.

I was immediately drooling (whoops!) as I approached the fridge filled with farm fresh meats and cheeses. Picking a couple items I “needed” would be tough! Fine cut and grass fed makes all the difference in flavour. To the side, I noticed a jar of honey perfectly paired with soft cheeses for a weekend charcuterie board. I was almost set!

I’m a sucker for a beautiful coffee table book. I especially love it when those books share a story and recipes. The selection on show look both beautiful in the home as well as in your tummy (the food looks amazing and I cannot wait to try out the recipes!) Budget me only allowed myself to buy one, but I’m sure I’ll be back for at least one more!

If you appreciate high quality ingredients and small run manufacturing, you’ll love what’s on offer. If you’re into homemade pasta and botanical or bush honey, or if your condiment budget is as high as mine (!!) you’ll also love the spread as much as we did. It’s worth a visit, even if you aren’t staying for lunch (but seriously, stay for lunch too – the wood fire pizza is incredible!)
